Exit via the Swiss side — follow signs for France
Keep your passport handy for the border crossing. The Swiss customs area (Bardonnex) is usually quick and quiet.
Take the A41 toll road towards Annecy
At the tollbooth, press the green button and take a ticket. Note: speed radars are active along the Swiss motorway — observe limits. You'll pass through three short tunnels before the French border.
Exit 17 — Annecy Nord (~40 min from airport)
Return your ticket and pay the toll here (~€4–6). Follow signs for Annecy city centre, then pick up the D909 heading south along the lake's eastern shore.
Follow the lake road through Veyrier-du-Lac and Menthon-Saint-Bernard
Keep following signs for Talloires. The road is scenic but narrow in places — take care on the hairpin bends as you descend into the village.
Talloires — take the first exit at the roundabout
This road leads into the village. Le Manoir is signed from the main village road. Parking is available in the central car park.
🛂 Bring your passport — border officers occasionally check cars on the French side.
💳 The A41 toll accepts cash and cards. Typical cost €4–6 each way.
⚡ EV charging is available at the Intermarché in Doussard (~10 min from Talloires).
🚗 Car hire desks are in the arrivals hall at Geneva Airport — book in advance in summer.
🅿️ Parking at Le Manoir is limited. The central village car park is a 3-minute walk.

A private transfer meets you in arrivals and drives you directly to Le Manoir — no border hassle, no navigation. The best option if you don't want to hire a car or are travelling as a group. Several reliable operators serve this route:

Good alternative with more low-cost options. Direct motorway (A41) north to Annecy then lake road. Rhône Express tram connects to Lyon Part-Dieu for trains to Annecy (total ~2h 30m).

~85 km · ~1h 15m by car
Small regional airport. Seasonal routes mainly from UK. Car hire recommended — limited public transport onward.
Paris CDG / Orly

TGV from Gare de Lyon to Annecy, several daily departures (~3h 15m). Book well in advance. Taxi or Bus 20 for the final leg to Talloires.

Welcome Pack — suggested minimum contents
Shutters: If the apartment will be unoccupied for several days or weeks after your stay, please close the shutters. In winter this helps retain heat; in summer it keeps the apartment cool.
There are three high-quality Cannondale hybrid bikes in the cave of each apartment, available for use by occupiers. Please wear the helmets supplied and leave the bikes as you would like to find them.

⚡ E-Bike charging — important safety notice
1Remove the battery from the e-bike and bring it to the apartment to charge.
2Charge fully — allow 2 – 3 hours. E-bike chargers are to remain in the apartment at all times.
3Once fully charged, replace the battery on the bike in the cave. Leave the battery on the bike fully charged.
DO NOT leave the battery charging in an empty apartment at any time. This is a serious fire risk.

BBQ Appartement 11 only
Gas & cylinders
The BBQ uses butane gas. There are two 'cube' gas bottles — the spare is stored beneath the BBQ when not in use. The spare cylinder must be removed before the BBQ is lit, and must never be stored in the cave.
⚠Remove the spare cylinder from beneath the BBQ before lighting.
⚠Turn the regulator valve to the OFF position whenever the BBQ is not in use.
Replacing a bottle
Please replace each bottle when used. If you don't have a car, leave a note in the tech log / handover diary along with €27.50 (the cost of a replacement bottle) for the next arrival.

Dump — Déchèterie
For disposal of all rubbish types — including larger items such as furniture, packaging, and electrical goods — use the Menthon Déchèterie.

Coming from Talloires, turn right at the Café de la Place Bar/Tabac en route to Château Menthon, passing La Confidentiel restaurant.
Proof of local residence is officially required (e.g. a utility bill). In practice the staff have never asked.

Membership of Ardgrove Investments DAC
Membership must include the member signing the Ardgrove Investments DAC Timeshare Agreement.

Handover & Takeover
This process is greatly helped if arriving and departing members contact each other in advance — including contacting Marcus and those before and after you — a minimum of one week ahead of your arrival. Items to cover: ongoing maintenance, repairs, laundry, arrival/departure day and time, and heating/water status. It is traditional to leave a Welcome Pack. See the Pre-departure Checklist (R&R 5).

Breakages & Technical Repairs
It is the occupier's responsibility to replace or repair any breakages during their stay, and to make every effort to arrange any technical repairs necessary — electrical, plumbing, etc. (see Contact Numbers, R&R 4 & 4A). Where possible, pay directly for repairs and reclaim the cost from the Financial Director.

Purchases & Refurbishments
Members may be asked from time to time by the Upkeep Committee or Directors to arrange for the purchase, delivery, or collection of new or replacement equipment or furniture while in occupation.

Maintenance Book & Diary
All necessary technical details must be entered in the Maintenance Book. Other non-technical details — helpful local and tourist information, restaurant recommendations, etc. — may be entered in the apartment diary. Please leave both folders on the table before your departure.

Sale of Ownership & Membership
Members wishing to sell must advise the Board (through one of the Directors). The only register of Members is held by the Company Secretary; membership is certified by holding the Membership Certificate. Without following this step, there can be no assurance that the change of membership — and therefore the right to use the apartment — will transfer properly to a new owner.

Allowing Others to Use Your Slot
It is the member's responsibility to brief anyone using their slot on the rules above. This also includes letting Marcus and the members before and after you know the arrival and departure dates and times of your guests.
Give Marcus a minimum of one week's notice before your arrival and departure dates and times. Let him know which apartment you are using — Apt 11 Le Manoir, Apt 23 Le Manoir, or Le Cheney. When emailing Marcus about arrival and departure, please CC the members due before and after you — this makes it easier for everyone when it comes to leaving perishables.

Splitting your fortnight
If you are not staying for the full two weeks, or if different people are taking the second week of your slot, check with Marcus that he can clean the apartment on the middle weekend. If he is not available, you will need to arrange cleaning with whoever is taking over for the second week.

Not using your slot
Please let Marcus know if you will not be using your two-week slot.

Beds
Marcus is not responsible for making up the beds. Before departure, please make up the double bed and leave bed linen on the two single beds in the second bedroom.

Fridge, bins, microwave & oven
Marcus is not responsible for the fridge, bins, microwave, or oven. These must be cleaned by shareholders as part of the pre-departure inspection. See the Pre-departure Checklist (R&R 5).

Leave all laundry — bed linen etc. — at Le Tabac before you leave Talloires. Le Tabac is open at weekends. If it is closed when you leave, pass the laundry to the member following you along with a list of what is being left and the money to cover the cost.

Payment & collection ticket
Pay Le Tabac at drop-off and leave the collection ticket for the member following you. Please let Le Tabac know which apartment the laundry belongs to — Apt 11 Le Manoir, Apt 23 Le Manoir, or Le Cheney.

Collecting laundry
When collecting laundry, please check that you have picked up the correct apartment's items. Return everything to the appropriate room or cupboard.

Towels
It is acceptable to wash and dry towels in the apartment if time permits before you leave — please leave them hanging on the clothes horse.
